Sports Physiotherapy

The basic function of physiotherapy in sports is rehabilitation after traumatic events and/or surgery and it plays a fundamental role in the prevention of accidents and in optimizing sports performance.

Treatments quickly and effectively eliminate sports muscle fatigue by stimulating circulation and oxygenation, reducing the risk of strain or sprain.

Fundamental rehabilitation exercises for sports gesture recovery also cover rehabilitation proprioception (the ability to perceive and recognize the position of one’s body in space as well as muscle balance, neuromuscular contraction and response), and are essential to the rehabilitation of professional and amateur athletes.

Athletes are treated in different periods of their sporting careers: during adolescence, as adults and over 60, and there are special treatment plans for athletes with disabilities.

In the case of professional athletes, personal race calendars are taken into consideration in order to arrange the best rehabilitation plan for a rapid return to competition with respect to health and safety.

Particular attention is paid to the subjective aspects of motivation in each athlete.
