Custom-Made Splints<\/h2>\n

Splints<\/strong>\u00a0(also known as orthoses or external orthopaedic appliances) are\u00a0rehabilitation devices used successfully in the treatment of numerous hand disorders both in conservative and post-surgical cases<\/strong>, by applying static or dynamic force to limbs and extremities.<\/p>\n

They are\u00a0custom-made directly on the patient\u2019s hand<\/strong>, fabricated using\u00a0thermoplastic material<\/strong>\u00a0that can be remoulded, based on the way the disorder progresses and according to rehabilitation protocol.<\/p>\n

Unlike conventional immobilization methods, like casts or standard, ready-made splints, custom fabricated splints offer considerable advantages in that they are\u00a0light<\/strong>,\u00a0easily removable and washable<\/strong>\u00a0and above all perfectly adaptable to small hand joints in line with the specific characteristics of each individual patient.<\/p>\n

Splints can be static<\/strong>, with no moving parts, to support and immobilize joints,\u00a0or dynamic<\/strong>, with moving parts, favouring recovery time and allowing functional use of the hand.<\/p>\n
